The provisions in your will for making a gift to our institution will depend upon the type of gift and your own circumstances. Perhaps these model provisions will be helpful to your attorney.

I give to The Western Washington University Foundation , a non-profit 501(c)(3) Corporation, headquartered at Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington, USA, the sum of _______________(or _____% of my estate; or the property described herein) for its general purposes.

I give to The Western Washington University Foundation , a non-profit 501(c)(3) Corporation, headquartered at Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington, USA, the sum of _______________(or _____% of my estate; or the property described herein) to be used for ____________________________________________________________(specific purpose).

I bequeath my house, farm, livestock, car, truck, etc., to The Western Washington University Foundation , a non-profit 501(c)(3) Corporation, headquartered at Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington, USA. (Include property address and/or legal description, if real estate.)

I give to The Western Washington University Foundation , a non-profit 501(c)(3) Corporation, headquartered at Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington, USA, the sum of _______________(or property herein described), the same to be known as "The _________________ Memorial Fund", the income from which shall be used for its general purposes (or describe the specific purpose, if desired).

All the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate, both real and personal, I give to The Western Washington University Foundation , a non-profit 501(c)(3) Corporation, headquartered at Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington, USA, for its general purposes.

I devise and bequeath the residue of the property owned by me at my death, real and personal and wherever situate, to my spouse, _________________________ if he/she survives me. If my spouse does not survive me, I devise and bequeath my residuary estate to The Western Washington University Foundation , a non-profit 501(c)(3) Corporation, headquartered at Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington, USA, for its general purposes.

I give and bequeath the residue of the property owned by me at my death, real and personal and wherever situate, in equal shares to my above named beneficiaries, if they survive me. If my above named beneficiaries do not survive me, I give and bequeath my residuary estate to The Western Washington University Foundation , a non-profit 501(c)(3) Corporation, headquartered at Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington, USA, for its general purposes.

A Testamentary Charitable Trust or Annuity may be set up to provide life income to a survivor, with the principal going to our institution on the survivor's death. Sample forms to help your attorney draft this are available upon request.

A Testamentary Charitable Lead Trust may be established in your Will to eliminate estate and inheritance taxes, and thus increase your estate for your children, grandchildren, or other heirs while continuing your important annual support for our institution for a specific number of years.
