"The Western Washington University Foundation exists to generate and maximize private
support for the benefit of Western Washington University; to ensure
the proper use and expenditure of private gifts; to maximize the growth
and return for long-term investments; and to build and expand linkages
between the University and private sector."
The Western Washington University Foundation was founded in 1966 as a not-for-profit corporation
designed to solicit, receive and administer private gifts for the benefit
of Western Washington University. A board of directors manages the
Foundation and all voting directors are non-compensated volunteers,
each lending his or her expertise and time to benefit the University.
A staff of 21 development and support professionals carries out daily
operations and conducts business on behalf of the board.
The Foundation is recognized under section 501(c) 3 of IRS Code.
All gifts accepted by the Foundation are deductible for income tax
purposes to the full extent allowable by law.
