Parent Advancement Council

Access to higher education has become a critical need of Washington’s students which is why the Parent Advancement Council exists. With a goal of raising $40,000 in its inaugural year, the council will provide much needed scholarship support in the form of four scholarships awarded at $2,500 a year for four years. This renewable support will help students come to Western and stay at Western. The council plans to expand the goal to $100,000 in the following year, expanding access to even more students. Mission The mission of the Western Washington University Parent Advancement Council is to provide leadership in generating scholarship support to ensure that new talented students choose Western where "Active Minds are Changing Lives." Involvement Parent Advancement Council Members lead other parents by example and invest in students by making a gift or pledge to scholarships at a leadership level, a minimum of $1,500 a year. Additional involvement opportunities include invitations to attend two Parent Advancement Council receptions each year, invitations to attend special regional events in support of Western Washington University and invitations to participate in additional University Advancement work in order to garner further support for Western when possible.
